Culture, religion, and science all influence astronomy. Scientist's curiosity about space and all its wonders also have an influence. This is the reason people study stuff.
Science- systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation.
Religion- a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
Pseudoscience- any of various methods, theories, or systems, as astrology, psychokinesis, or clairvoyance, considered as having no scientific basis.
